As the demands for more weapons increase, the need for more unique weapons also increase. For the longest time, the Matoran Crafters Guild has been experimenting with lightweight metals, but some with fewer results than others. One particular Matoran was determined to product the sharpest weapon with the lightest weight to the blade size. Failure after failure, drove him to resort to even more questionable methods, methods that were align with the methods of the Makuta.
After a mishap, the matoran discovered that the use of blood cured and harden one of the most difficult metals to work with. After more tests, he realized the blood harden and caused crystallization in the metal, making it his ideal metal for bladed weapons. Sadly, he also discovered it was a certain blood type that caused this to occur. To build a working model, he captured a shadow Matoran, and drained them of their blood to cure the blades and metal parts for the chain sickle. He presented the weapon to the guild, but they soon caught on to his weapon crafting method, and exiled him from the guild for it. He was cast out, and all had hoped that they never hear of him again, the exiled crafter.
